Put on your headphones and discover the Gatehouse tower, the Anonymous statue and the Skeleton of Kincsem through the power of storytelling and learn historical information and uncommon stories and anecdotes from the medieval times. Tour’s content is the result of in-depth research, squeezed into brief original stories that will make your visit both engaging and informative. The audio tour can be used repeatedly and anytime, before or after your visit.

This is an unmissable opportunity to gain valuable insights into the Vajdahunyad Castle: the Castle celebrating the Hungarian Conquest of the Carpathian basin and relate to your surroundings in an entirely original way.

The innovator

Szilárd Zielinski, the man for whom the bridge was named, was an innovator who contributed to many of the city’s most famous landmarks, such as the Margit Island Water Tower. He was an enthusiastic fan of enhanced concrete construction. This bridge has a concrete base and carved limestone covered pillars, along with an iron structure that was manufactured at the Ganz Danubius steel factory. Like the Vajdahunyad Castle, the Zielinski Bridge was commissioned for the millennial celebrations of 1896 to commemorate the 1,000-year anniversary of the Hungarian tribes’ conquest of the Carpathian Basin. Although the bridge was not damaged during the WWII siege of Budapest, its candelabras were broken and later found along with those from the exploded Chain Bridge. Since it was first built, the bridge has been reconstructed twice.
