Silmee Nowar
My name is Silmee Nowar and I am a junior, Global Management major focusing in Finance and Supply Chain at Earlham College in Indiana, USA. I am originally from Bangladesh although I have been living in various places the past few years, this year being Athens.
Previously, I have worked in a variety of areas including children’s education, Micro-finance, Social Business, financial evaluation, and Journalism and my internship at Clio Muse has been providing me with various experiences including blog writing, research, fundraising etc. This is the first time that I got to experience working in a small, start-up business environment and I have been loving working in such a bright, bubbly, and passionate environment where everyone is genuinely happy to working with each other. Apart from the professional things, I have also been learning a lot about how to establish relationships with people who I work with and that has been enlightening so far.
My time at Athens has also been fantastic so far with me getting to visit all the ancient sites for my archeology class, to binge-eating souvlaki everyday, to trying to desperately cram some words of Greek in classes. I have, so far, been enjoying my time at Athens and at Clio Muse very much and I look forward to learning more and developing more relationships during the rest of my time here.

Unaizah Abbas
I am a Pakistani who has been studying business and politics in the United States for three years at Earlham College in Indiana. My hobbies include reading, playing video games, watching movies and above all, touring other countries. Hence, no one was surprised when for my study abroad, I chose to spend four glorious months in the bustling city of Athens. During this time I learned Greek, visited historic sites like the Acropolis, ate many Souvlakis and interned at Clio Muse.
I was very inspired by the story of how Clio Muse started as it is very close to the business I am working on. The small staff size, energetic atmosphere, and flexible work make this internship more than I could have asked for. The team is like a family which makes them all feel very welcoming and even though it has only been a month, I feel like I have learned many valuable skills here than I would have in other businesses. I worked on a variety of tasks including, writing posts, blogs, doing research and even taking pictures in Italy. My flexible work schedule and responsibilities also brought out the best in me as I improved my writing, work ethic, and professional network. I will cherish the time I spent with these incredible people, and I hope to share their passion for my future career.

Flannery Currin
Flannery Currin is an undergraduate student from Earlham College in Indiana, who interned at Clio Muse during her time studying at Arcadia University in Athens. She is majoring in computer science and psychology, and worked on laying the groundwork to set up a recommender system while she was there. She learned a lot from the people at Clio Muse — about the history of Athens, the tourism industry, working at a startup, and conducting computer-science related research. She values the flexibility she was afforded while at Clio Muse to explore her own interests while working on projects that would also benefit Clio Muse in some way.

As a university student studying journalism and psychology, I found my niche was with writing content for Clio Muse. The small staff size allows each employee to bring their own unique talents to the table and I was able to use my people-person and writing skills to help promote tours and write articles – and I got to learn a few fun things and meet some cool people while doing it.
If my American English had not given it away already, I am from the United States. When I am not interning at Clio Muse and adventuring around Greece, I am a student at the University of Minnesota and editor of a newspaper. For the past few months I have had the opportunity to live and study in Athens at Arcadia University through a study abroad program. Besides studying I have been hiking a lot. I even ran the original Marathon route for fun one day to the dismay of my peers. While my Greek language skills continue to be a work-in-progress, I have learned many other valuable skills here, especially through my internship at Clio Muse. My biggest takeaway from this internship is that you can go a long way if you love the work that you do. Clio Muse has taught me that you can do a lot if you have a few passionate people who truly care about the work they do and I hope to carry this work ethic with me when I leave here.
