The Arkivet Peace and Human Rights Center work in four key areas: research, information dissemination, documentation, and teaching. As formulated in its strategic plan for 2021-2025, the Archive’s mission for society is to:

-Maintain the historic Archive building, developing it into an arena for information dissemination.

-Help Norway fulfill its obligation to educate its children and young people about democracy and human rights.

-Actively work in information dissemination that supports a society rooted in openness, democracy, human dignity, and diversity.

-Contribute to the strengthening of democracy, peace, and human rights, through information dissemination and awareness-raising based on research and documentation.
