National Historical Museum

The National Historical Museum is permanently housed in the Old Parliament Building at Stadiou Street (Kolokotronis square) since 1960. The Museum narrates the history of Modern Greece: the period of Ottoman and Latin rule, the Greek War of Independence (1821), the liberation struggles, the creation of an independent state, the political, social and spiritual development of the Greeks up to the present day.

Municipal Art Gallery of Larissa G.I. Katsigras Museum

The Municipal Art Gallery of Larissa G.I. Katsigras Museum, from the very first year of its establishment in 1983 until today, fully integrated into the city’s social fabric, has contributed in many ways to the establishment of fine arts in Larissa, the broader region of Thessaly and nationwide.

The G.I. Katsigras Collection was created in the period 1950-1965 by Larissa-born surgeon Georgios Katsigras (1914-1998) and today hosts 780 works (paintings, engravings, and drawings) from the 19th to the middle of the 20th century.

Museum of Cycladic Art

The Museum of Cycladic Art is one of the most important, and largest private museums in Greece. Its permanent collection consists of four different exhibitions that showcase Cycladic Art (3200 – 2000 BC), Ancient Greek Art (2000 BC – 395 AD) and Ancient Cypriot Art (3900 BC – 6th century AD).
