Attention to detail

In celebration of its 50th anniversary, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts commissioned a sculpture of the former President from STUDIOEIS, a Brooklyn-based, family-run studio renowned for its finely crafted historical statues. The task was not merely to capture a likeness, but to evoke the spirit of JFK—his radiant optimism, magnetic charm, and uncanny ability to put others at ease. After a year of immersive research, delving into archives and exploring form through experimentation, the statue was unveiled to the public in 2021. Today, it stands gracefully in the lower gardens of the Kennedy Center campus, a tribute in bronze to a legacy that continues to inspire.

Leonidas Argyros

A grumpy man with a PhD. He is fascinated by words; when he sees them forming beautiful sentences he feels like an apprentice wizard who just produced fancy potions out of cauldrons full of frog legs and tears of bats. In his spare time he roams about town or watches anything produced and narrated by Sir David Attenborough, an inexhaustible source of similes. In Canada, he learned to love the cold, but he is much happier working in Athens.
