Description

The Athenians chose the most beautiful suburb of their city as a cemetery for their glorious dead heroes, their families, and the occasional blood-thirsty tyrant. And because they were Greeks, they made sure to adorn their tombs with exquisite works of art that remain elegant and poignant, capturing our imagination with their timeless beauty.

Enjoy a hassle-free visit to one of the must-see ancient landmarks of Athens, the archaeological site of Kerameikos, with an entry e-ticket and discover its riveting stories with an audio tour, downloadable on your phone.

Leonidas Argyros

A grumpy man with a PhD. He is fascinated by words; when he sees them forming beautiful sentences he feels like an apprentice wizard who just produced fancy potions out of cauldrons full of frog legs and tears of bats. In his spare time he roams about town or watches anything produced and narrated by Sir David Attenborough, an inexhaustible source of similes. In Canada, he learned to love the cold, but he is much happier working in Athens.
