The Goal
Headout is a world-leading Online Travel Agency with access to large ticket supplies to various venues around the globe. Their account manager for the Pena Palace in Sintra, Portugal, approached us looking for a strategy to bundle the tickets with an audio tour in order to increase margins.
The Outcome
Together we launched an audio tour for the Pena Palace combined with the respective entry ticket. The audio tour was initially offered through a branded web application as a quick experiment. When we measured the upselling ratio and the increased margins comparing to ticket-only products, we decided to replicate this experiment to more venues. However, since Headout is a mobile-first company, we had to find a way to remove the customer friction of app-switching between the apps of Headout and Clio Muse Tours. As a result, we developed an SDK Library which Headout integrated in their own application. Eventually, our IT teams have found the best possible customer journey, which has increased margins, brand loyalty and customer engagement for our partners in Headout.
